NIGHT MASS: GOD COMPLEX
4 NIGHTS
8 STAGES
126 MUSIC ACTS
135 PERFORMANCE ARTISTS
16,000+ ATTENDEES
a puppet-run shots bar where fireball was your penance, live videography performance art, an offsite kidnapping, a 7m animatronic shark, a nonna's kitchen scene where audience members pelted tomatoes at a gimp, a SIMS lounge, a daddy who’d shave your eyebrows off if you would just behave, a houseparty run by a different crew of artists every night, a sleazy adult basement dyke bar presented by SDS, a convenience store, rooftop sermons, a full-blown fucking maze, indoor snow, a show-stopping pyro performance … and that’s not even half of it
For NIGHT MASS: GOD COMPLEX, Lane Pitcher led the development and delivery of the event’s overarching creative world, shaping the conceptual framework, spatial narrative and audience experience across the multi-venue late-night program. Working across creative development, performance curation and large-scale event delivery, her role included developing the project’s thematic direction and creative materials; directing the design, lighting, technical and programming teams on the identity, pacing and atmosphere of individual spaces; leading performance curation and working closely with music programming on artist selection, tonal direction and scheduling across the precinct; overseeing artist budgeting, contracting and coordination processes; and managing large-scale nightly operations for more than 140 artists across the event footprint each night.
